Crone, Ahmed, star in washout games

In a week where all games were washed out, Billy Crone (86) and Mitu Ahmed (60*) were the club's top performers.

Billy made 86 for the 4s despite suffering a dislocated shoulder, in their commanding total of 210/8 before rain stopped play halfway through the Rainham innings.

Mitu was already 60* when the rain put paid to the 2s match at Dartford after only 25 overs of the Blackheath innings.

Senior outdoor training
Training is from 18:00 on Wednesday at the Rectory. Please turn up and give yourself the best preparation possible for Saturday.

Blackheath Cricket Club

Blackheath Cricket Club is one of the leading cricket clubs in London. Formed over one hundred and fifty years ago and sporting a colourful history, Blackheath fields 6 league teams every Saturday, up to 3 teams on a Sunday and also operates an extensive youth section.

The 1st XI play in the Premier Division of the Kent Cricket League, which is one of the strongest amateur cricket leagues in the UK. The Club’s 2nd and 4th XIs also play in the Kent League structure, while the 3rd, 5th and 6th XIs play in the Kent Regional League - often against the 1st or 2nd XIs of other clubs.

Since 1886, the Club's main ground has been the Rectory Field. The Club also has an attractive, high-quality second ground at the old Royal Military Academy in Woolwich.

The Club’s six Saturday XIs, Sunday teams, midweek programme, youth section and vibrant social scene mean there is a place for everyone from current internationals to the youngest colt.

We seek to enable all our members to play at the appropriate level of cricket for their ability, while enjoying the social and cricketing benefits of being part of a larger club.

Blackheath has one of the leading youth sections in the UK, regularly progressing to the latter stages of the ECB National U13 and U15 Cup competitions. As an ECB Focus Club with Clubmark accreditation and a wealth of experienced coaches, Blackheath provides an environment where young people can enjoy the game recreationally but also supports a steady stream of young people to access county age-group squads.

Blackheath Cricket Club is situated in the London Borough of Greenwich but serves much of central south and east London. As such, the Club prides itself on a diverse membership. We are proud that so many players - from all corners of the UK, and from all around the world - can call the Rectory Field "Home".
